Kubla Kons

Couldn't not upload a photo of the baby-to-be. This was taken 12/13/05 and I am now officially halfway through the pregnancy. Shew! You think that went fast, but those first 14 weeks dragged by for me. The next 20, I know, are going to be the ones that disappear on me.

More photos of Kubla. Posted by Picasa

The Move

Well...the move was 2 weeks ago now, but I am finally feeling settled enough to spend a few minutes to upload these photos. As you know, the hardest part of moving, for me, was leaving the nursery we had decorated for Kyrie. The above photos are of Kyrie saying "goodbye" to her bears. The bears may, just may, make a reappearance in Kubla's room, but I am not holding my breath. May 3rd seems just minutes away and I wonder when I will find the time. Still...it could happen :-)

Anyway, we are in the new house. The Christmas tree is up. Every room almost unpacked (just have the office left to go). And, it is finally feeling more like home. Yea!

Ask and You Shall Receive

Less than 12 hours later and I have received photos! Thank you, Linda! I think these were taken while Matt and I were in NY and Kyrie stayed with G-ma and G-pa Kons. She had lots of fun playing with all of their toys, She sure is lucky that her grandparents love her so much that they have so many fun things to do at their house. Whenever we are there she loves to play "bull heads" with G-pa. They put their heads together and G-pa says, "Bull heads". It is really cute.

We are headed there tonight to celebrate Matt's birthday, so maybe I will have even more photos to share soon!

Holiday Card

It has not been my intention to be such a slacker with the Blog lately. It is not that there is nothing to report. There's actually a lot to report - from new words to an ear infection to the status of packing up our house. But, when it comes time to sit down and type it all up, I am just so...tired! So, I think I have probably lost a lot of you - you keep checking back and there is nothing new, so you probably stopped checking. Well, that's okay. I was really doing this for me anyway.

Also, my camera has definitely called it kaputs, so any photos I have were not taken by me and I have to beg family members to send them to me. The photos above were taken by my dad and were possibilities for our Holiday Card. These were not chosen. You will have to wait to get your mail to see the photo of our choice. But, we liked these all the same.

It'll probably be like a month before I Blog again with the move coming up so quickly now. Our stress levels are starting to rise again and with my hormones kind of out of whack, I am liable to cry when thinking about this all. So, we will just leave it at that. Hope all is well in your world!

Feeding the Ducks

Okay, so it's been a little while! What with all of the nauseousness and fatigue I haven't really been thinking too much about blogging. Plus, my camera just recently died...I am unsure if it will be resurrected...very frustrating. But, here are some photos taken by my sister of all of us feeding the ducks near J.'s house. Posted by Picasa

1st Haircut

I don't think I like this Posted by Picasa

Yea! Pretty Kyrie! Posted by Picasa

Kyrie got her very first haircut this afternoon. It was funny because the moment we walked into the salon where she was going to have to sit, she burst into tears....like she knew something was up. But, after a few minutes of running around and looking at pumpkins and other interesting things in the building, she finally let us put her on my lap. She got her own comb to play with and did fairly well. She didn't like the feel of the scissors on her neck, so she would do her squeezed up hands and face thing to let us know she wasn't thrilled. But, she never kicked, never screamed...just squirmed some. Sad to say, though, the mullet is now gone. There is no party in the back anymore. But, it looks really cute and was definitely time.

More to come on our New York trip and photos of while were gone as soon as I get the chance.

Leaving on a jet plane

Matt and I are off to New York City where we will be seeing the U2 concert at Madison Square Gardens on Monday. Please pray for us to have a safe trip as it sounds like the one place we are going to be this weekend is the one place that is on high security alert. I guess we will be avoiding the subways.

Kyrie is staying with each of her grandparents for a few days and we are going to miss her terribly!!!!!!!!!!

Exciting News

For some of you this will be a repeat received over e-mail...but, since I don't have a lot of time and wanted to get the news out there, I thought I would just reprint the e-mail. Here it is:

Matt and I wanted to write to share with you all the many crazy things going on in our life. First, Kyrie turned 18-months old last week. Second, we are moving. And third, Kyrie is going to be a big sister!

Kyrie had her 18-month doctor appointment today and she is now 33-inches tall and weighs a little over 23 pounds. Which puts her in the 75th percentile for her height and the 25th for her weight. Dr. Grunske was impressed with her vocabulary and her sleeping habits, and was shocked at the amount of energy she displayed in the short amount of time we were there. Kyrie received 2 shots, which we basically had to pin her down to receive. It was heart-breaking, as usual. Afterwards, I, like any horribly-guilt-ridden-post-traumatic-doctors-apointment-stressed-mother, got Kyrie an ice cream cone, and proceeded to eat about 80% of it myself. Hey, she doesn't need all that sugar. :-) My baby has truly become a toddler in the last 6 months and has never been more fun.

We decided that it was time to move a few weeks ago when we found out that Greenfield Ave is going to be under construction next Spring. Our original plan was to move next Fall, but we decided that it might be in our best interest to sell the house now and not have to show it mid-construction. We found a wonderful house in Brookfield and will be just North of Capitol and West of Calhoun. Very close to St. Dominic's, Stonewood Village, and Pick N Save, amongst other things. The house has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a living room, family room, dining room, and sun room. It is going to be a lot of space for us! We will close on December 2nd - just in time for the holidays - and cannot wait to share it with you all. (You can take a virtual tour online)

We have not sold our house yet, but it has only been on the market for a week. If you know of anyone looking for a 2 bedroom, 2 full bath house, with a large master bedroom and kitchen in New Berlin, please send them our way! (262-827-8984)

Finally, yes, you read that right - we are pregnant. Kubla Kons (just a pre-birth nickname), is due May 3rd, 2006, which puts us just shy of 10 weeks along. Kyrie and Kubla will be about 25 months apart. We realize it is a tad bit early to be sharing this news, but as we are on our second child it seems that I am going to be wearing the maternity clothes a bit earlier this time around - like tomorrow. With all of the other craziness going on in our lives we haven't had much of a chance to think about how we are having another baby! But, we are really excited....somewhere in there amongst all of our nervousness, stress, and denial. At this point, we don't think we will find out the sex of the baby - enjoyed not-knowing with Kyrie - but if we change our minds at the 20-week ultrasound, we will definitely let you know! Some of you may not know Matt's brother, Mark and his wife, Carrie, are also pregnant, due late March, so this baby will have two cousins and a sister all pretty close in age. Very exciting!
