Declan grabbed Hugo's hand rather roughly in the car and so, of course, I asked him, rather loudly, to stop (as I was driving and did not appreciate the screaming). Declan's response?
"I love you, Mommy."
To which I responded:
"Declan, if you love me, you'll take care of Hugo."
In taking that thought another step, it made me think of Jesus and Peter as they were walking together. "Peter, do you love me? Then feed my sheep." I wonder how often God is up there in heaven pulling his hair out as he listens to us as we are hurtful to one another or conveniently ignore 90% of the world's population as they suffer on a daily basis.
People, if you love Me, then take care of your brothers and sisters, my sheep.
