Well, Lariska has been in the world just a bit over a week now and though life has changed tremendously we are doing pretty good. In general, she is going about 2.5 hours straight in the night before waking up to nurse. Not awesome, but doable. She had her first pediatrician appt. last week Thursday (At 5 days old) and was back up to her birthweight. The Ped. said that was pretty remarkable and that because of it she doesn't need to see us at 2 weeks. So, it will be June before we get another update on her progress. She also told me to cut back on the feeding a bit, since Lariska was obviously hitting it pretty hard! The first couple of days she was because I was basically just trying to make life simple for Kyrie with less crying from the baby. But, now we are on a 2.5 hour cycle and that seems to be going well.
Kyrie has had a couple of episodes that were obviously attention-deprivation related - usually involving ripping the pages from a book. We are working on this, but life is never going to be quite the same for the Lovebug and I feel bad for her...but, not bad enough to let her rip her books to shreds! Please don't bring it up to her as she doesn't need more scolding. She just needs your love and attention through this adjustment period. And, I thank you so much for giving it to her!
I am currently ecstatic because both of my daughters are down for a nap at the same time....I should be sleeping, too! Guess I better run and take advantage of this...
