Naptime During Spring Break

Naptime can be a stressful time in this house when Kyrie is home.  She just doesn't understand how to keep her body quiet.  Which is why I am eternally grateful for the gift Nana gave us - Harry Potter Hogwarts Legos!  Naptime over Spring Break turned into awesome time.  Kyrie and I had the most excellent time putting this set together.  And the best part - it took us all week!

Working on the last of three instruction booklets.

A collection of photos of our progress.

Finished!

Shoeless Joe...

...Or Shirtless Declan, actually.  Looking pretty suave.

Welcome

Welcome to the world, sweet Nora Lynne Kons.  April 29th at 10:19am, 7 lbs 14 oz., 20 inches long.  Congratulations Mark and Carrie and big brothers, Will and Drew!  How rude of me not to have taken a photo of the proud parents.  (I stole that last photo off their blog.)

Flabbergast

We met some friends at Flabbergast on the last weekday of Spring Break.  The kids plum wore themselves out.  They move so quickly I didn't catch many photos, but I thought these were pretty cute.
Kyrie taking Declan down the slide - his mass to muscle ratio isn't quite good enough yet for him to pull himself up the steps they make on these play gyms, so Kyrie was kind enough to stand behind him and push his behind.  Her reward - making him sit on her lap on the way down!

Easter 2011

The Easter Bunny brought just a few things for each child this year.  These children are so spoiled and the bunny knows it.  Kyrie got three movies (Bambi, Pinocchio, and Tangled), Lariska received a t-ball bat and helmet, and Declan got a controller for his GeoTrax.  Probably their favorite part of the morning was finding fruit snacks hidden all over the playroom.

After church, to celebrate the true meaning of Easter, it was naptime and then off to the Berrall House for another basket hunt outside.  Sadly, I forgot my camera.  Darnit.  The kids had a great time trying to figure out how the bunny hopped high enough to put the baskets up in all the trees.

Munchkin Land

While it is completely annoying to have to pull Declan off the sink every two seconds ("wath hands, wath hands"), I absolutely love how he looks when he reaches up to turn the water on.  His little butt up in the air is too adorable for words.  So....here's a picture:

Morning with Grandma

Every Monday for the last couple of weeks, Declan has been spending the morning at Grandma's house.  It sounds like they are having a fabulous time, while allowing me some much-needed quiet time to get things done (and occasionally have some peace-filled reading time).  Declan comes home happy and tired.  It's awesome!  Thanks Linda!

Growing Up

Kyrie went to Nana's house after church, so when Lari woke up from her nap today there was not much to do except watch TV while Declan was still asleep. Luckily, Delaney came to the rescue and showed up to invite Lari over to her house to jump on the trampoline. Lari, quickly got her shoes on and after a safety speech from Mommy, left the house. As I watched the two of them walk down the drive I couldn't help but think at how grown up my Little Lari is. She stopped at the street and looked both ways, crossed to the other side, and then kept walking on the grass. Did she look back to see if I was still watching? Nope. She just kept right on walking with her head held high, talking to Delaney about who knows what. It was so cute...and kinda sad all at the same time.

Lunch with Friends

It is getting harder and harder to find the time to get together with even the best friends, which is why I am so proud of the McDowells and Kons for making the time to have lunch together.  I haven't seen Jake in what feels like years, but is in actuality just months.  Still...he has grown so big - and smart!  And, Megan - wow!  She is four now!  What a beautiful child.  I can't believe she is a preschooler and ballerina and such a sweetheart.  It is always fun to catch up with Dave and Dena.  I am so glad we have such awesome friends!

Attempting to play the Wii - Just Dance Kids - but, our sound was broken, making it kinda difficult.

Look how big these kids have gotten.  (Declan is napping.)

Having fun with Legos.
