Farmer's Market

Casey & Cathy bought each of the girls a cookie - Kyrie had trouble eating more than the cherry on top. Mostly, she just wanted to admire how beautiful her cookie was. So...I offered to take a photo for her to remember it forever by.

Here is Lari's cookie. You may be able to tell (by her face) that she had less trouble with destroying the beauty.

Busy Week

Well...I had been complaining about how I felt that the summer started off pretty lousy with all that rain - since Kyrie ended preschool we hadn't had a chance to do much of anything fun because it was constantly wet outside. But, wow did this week change things. This week we...
Saturday - went to the zoo and met Carrie, Mark, Will, and Drew for lunch
Sunday - Church, helped Nana put up her pool, dinner at Nana and Pop-pop's house
Monday - went grocey shopping, my first staff mtg. at church so Auntie Cathy and Amelia came over to babysit the girls, in the evening we had Sidewalk Sunday School
Tuesday - Jen, Nick, Amanda, and Hailey came over for a playdate, after a loooong nap it was time for Sidewalk Sunday school again.
Wednesday - playdate at Auntie J.J.'s house where everyone ended up stripped down to their underpants jumping in the kiddie pool. Gma and Gpa stopped by for a short visit while Mommy was at her book discussion.
Thursday - Nana, Jackson, and Tyler are here every Thursday. It always makes for a crazy day. In the evening we had the last night of Sidewalk Sunday School. Kyrie loved it, but boy did it wear her (and me) out.
Friday - Nana, and the Kons girls went to Wirth Park for our first summer swim outting. It was so great to watch the girls splashing around. Lariska even stuck her head under the water and attempted to swim. Ohhhh boy! Gotta keep a close eye on that one.
Today - Daddy made us all breakfast and after he finishes mowing the lawn we are going to head to the Farmer's Market. Should be another fun day. Tonight I am babysitting for Amelia - maybe I can recuperate from this busy week by watching just one child, getting her to bed, and reading a good book! I am beat!

Father's Day

All day Lariska has been saying, "Happy Mother's Day, Daddy!" At bedtime tonight, though, Lariska yelled to Matt (after he had left the room), "Happy Father's Day, Daddy. See you later, Daddy. Have a good naptime, Daddy. Good night, Daddy. Next time won't you sing with me." I laughed pretty hard. I wish Matt had heard it, but alas, he had moved into Kyrie's room to begin reading her book to her.

Happy Father's Day, to Daddies everywhere. Our is the best, but we hope yours is pretty darn good as well.

The Whole World

Well, I am not sure if this will be as cute or funny as it was in person, but today on our way home from lunch with Heather, Julia, and Katie, Kyrie was talking on and on about her trip to Disney World. She remembered a lot. She said something to the effect:

"We went on the airplane and it took us a long time. I was really tired, but I didn't fall asleep. I didn't want to miss anything. I wanted to see the whole world."

I thought that was hilarious, because our flight (back in January) left at like 6pm or something and I was really hoping Kyrie would fall asleep on the plane. But, she was too stoked. Her head was like that of an owl as she tried to watch outside the plane and inside at the same time. It is funny that now when she looks back upon it she remembers wanting to see the whole world. I hope that someday she will achieve that goal. I know I am still working on it and hope to continue in my efforts for a very long time.

Ruby Tuesday

On Tuesday we girls had a lot of fun. It began with Lariska's first ever zoo class. I had so much fun watching her be a big girl - painting, pasting, sticking, listening to the teacher and following directions - she really seems like she's ready to go to preschool...if only she were three! Of course, I am not in a hurry for her to grow up. I want to keep my little two-year old. Sometimes she can be such a little baby and sometimes she really seems like she is older. Ahhhhh....to be two.

Well, after the zoo class Nana bought the girls ice cream. Does it get any better? They were so thrilled! Following the great melting we met Dena, Jake, and Megan and went to see the lions, and bears and got some lunch. Then it was naptime. After an all too short time of rest, it seemed so warm out (though a bit windy) that we decided to run through the sprinkler. Kyrie woke up from her nap talking about going to the beach, so we decided to continue the dream with a pretend ocean in our backyard. Check out the photos:
