June!

Halleluia!  June is now up-to-date on this blog!

New Technique

I have been meaning to post this forever...my lack of updating this blog is causing me to forget so many things that I had wanted to post.  Arghh...

Well...the point is, Hugo has been rolling and is now also scooching around.  I wanted to share his technique which is a new one to me - none of his siblings used this one.  Hugo rolls onto his back, then arches it and uses his feet to push himself backwards - towards the direction of his head.  The result is that he reverses himself where he wants to go.  He'll then roll over onto his tummy to see what there is to see, then go back to his back and scooch upwards slowly.  It's kind of funny.  And, a lot different than the typical army crawl (Kyrie) or side roll (Lari) to get where you want to go.  But, it works.  Makes me wonder if Hugo will often find the atypical way to get places.  I guess we will have to wait and see!

Caption?

Please post your own caption for this photo.  I do not remember what was going on at this moment or why it required a photo...but, I would love to hear your comments:

Kons Cousins

Dinner at with the Kons side was a bit hectic this evening.  The kids were lacking some sleep from our weekend in the Dells - Hugo only had a short nap in the car on the way home and Declan had none at all.  So, the kids were, needless to say, a bit crabby.  But...they still managed to have a lot of fun at Grandma and Grandpa's house and their skills at messing up the playroom cannot be challenged.

Is it my imagination or is Hugo catching up to Nora?

Will saying "Hi" to Hugo.

Thanks Nana (and Pop-Pop)!

Nana and Pop-Pop are the reason we are able to do a weekend in the Dells each year.  They are so generous as to rent the Condo out for all of our families - it's not cheap!  Thank you so much Nana/Mom and Pop-Pop/Pop.  We had a great time!

9 Kids and Counting

(Yes, Declan's hair is in a pony tail of sorts.  All of the girls had their hair done by Auntie Cathy...Declan, apparently wanted in on the action.  The results are above.  Silly boy.)

Buffalo Phil's

Dinner at the Dells at Buffalo Phil's was a real treat.  The kids loved how the train brought their food, blew bubbles at them, brought them hats.  It was a great time.  Be aware, should you go there - the food is not the best, but the atmosphere is pretty fun!

Racing in the Dells

This year, our annual trip to the Dells had to be moved up a bit (for a very important reason - Felicity is due to arrive right around the time we usually head to the Dells - November 13th), so for the first time ever we were in the Dells during warmer weather.  We used the opportunity to drive up a bit earlier than normal and hit the tracks.  Matt was in his element as he took turns driving Lariska and Declan around the course (Kyrie felt the cars were too loud for her).  He only caused one spinout...okay, maybe two?!  And, in his mind I am sure he won every race.  Casey may not agree.

Matt and Declan - not too sure if he likes this go cart stuff.

Okay, maybe this is fun!

Casey and Elizabeth.

Waiting for their turn, the girls get a little silly.

Returning from their first go at the go carts.

"We like go carts!"

It was a very warm day.  Hugo had to strip down to his onesie.

Lari's turn!

And a photo collage put together from photos Cathy took.  Thanks so much, Cathy!!!

Whoops, here are a few photos I missed in the collage.

Cooking at Nana's

It was a marvelous, crazy, chaotic, fun, hectic, awesome morning as we got together to make some recipes.  Cathy had this terrific idea that we should each bring the ingredients for a dinner, put four of them together and then share with one another.  The idea being that when we were finished we would each have four different meals to take home and freeze.  The kids played in the basement for the most part, but they did show their faces occasionally and even helped every now and then!  The best part?  We have some good food to eat this week!

Everybody loves Hugo!

Bathtime

Big Sis

Kyrie just loves holding her little brother.  Even though he keeps getting bigger she seems to be able to handle him (for the most part) fairly well.  She makes us nervous sometimes, but overall she is really very good with him.

Do You Like My Hat?

Hugo received this hat from his Nana when he was born - the first Winter baby in a family of mostly Spring grandkids.  Unfortunately for him, this winter was so mild that he never even wore this hat.  I am planning to pass it on to his soon-to-be cousin, Felicity (due November 13th), but thought we would try it on before packing it up and shipping it over to them.  How cute!

House of Chalk

I was very impressed with Kyrie and Lari this afternoon.  They played quietly outside for almost two hours making chalk houses and a driveway city.  It gave me time to put Hugo down for his nap, change my haircut time, and make a few other important phone calls.  Too cool.  Thanks girls!  Can every afternoon be this awesome, please?
